If we think of ideas we allow as good and ideas we silence as bad in today’s world and today’s moral dictionary, we create a set of all ideas that expresses what today’s norm is. In other words, we can represent free speech equilibrium with this given set. There are groups of people who like one set of ideas and dislike some other set of ideas, and there are other groups with their own sets, where the constant struggle and discourse creates the above mentioned equilibrium.
The mean of “goodness” of all ideas is never locked, but simply represents current equilibrium of what all people have roughly agreed with.
